Himeji Sakura
Here's the first set of pictures from my spring trip to Japan, Himeji castle grounds covered with sakura. Even though the weather was poor, it was still a beautiful place to visit, particularly with the sakura in full bloom.

What a shame, the weather wasn't good when you were in Himeiji, else the sight of the delicate sakura blooms against the cloudless blue skies of himeiji must have been quite a sight!
Funny how with sakura blooms framing any building, it instantaneously becomes so much more cheerful!

Yes, it was a sight to behold!
As you say, it would have been incredible if there'd been a blue sky.
