Changes Yen -> gold?
Looking at the exchange rate, I think the Yen is gold!
Can’t read the details of the machine, but if it’s a money to gold machine, they have them in London now. The first one was put into Westfield in Shepherds Bush:

Is that for real?!
The machine in Japan is simply to get change. but in a ¥1000 note and it gives you the money back in ¥100 coins.
Yep it’s for real. High price of gold meant it was a novelty, but it is for real. The first machine popped up in Dubai and now they are popping up in major cities all over the world. Gold exchange rates are tracked in real time from the machines so you always get the correct rate.
You can’t always trust paper currencies, but you can trust in Gold!
