Have you ever wondered about the numbers involved when quoting blood pressure? I have, but have never looked it up until today, after I had my blood pressure measured for the first time probably since at school in Japan (full check-ups were mandatory).
125/82 with a resting heart rate of 58.
The guy at the gym declared my blood pressure to be healthy enough and now I’m officially a gym-goer again! Wohoo!

If you have high blood pressure, do they not allow you into the gym?
I’ve had my blood pressure taken a few times at work as apart of a fitness day. Apparently I am average (weight, height, etc)
That’s right. If you are within the normal range then they let you join up, otherwise I would guess they refer you to a doctor first, unless you are already aware of your condition.
I’d like a full check-up but I doubt you can get a very thorough one on the NHS. I was reading recently about health insurance that provide at least one full check up a year which normally costs £600+. That’s a lot of money.
