My first day at my new company was yesterday and so far, so good.
The first couple of days have been dedicated to an induction course. The scale and effort put into the course has been truly impressive. Being a much larger company than my previous one, the scale of everything is naturally totally different but still incredible nonetheless.
The induction course has given me the opportunity to meet other new joiners which has been great. Coming from a software company to a multi-discipline company it’s a nice change that there are all sorts of people with different types of careers.
My only issues so far have been an issue or two with my PC, but I’m definitely not complaining. Otherwise, things have gone very smoothly.
I’ll be meeting the colleagues I’ll actually be working with tomorrow so that should be good. It will be great to start settling into the new office – I wonder what it will be like? The only thing I’m not looking forward to is shaking lots of hands and then to realising I’ve forgotten everyone’s names!

i’ve started working 3 years ago, and the current job is my 3th…
i find it difficult to remember new colleagues’ names too! i think it takes me a few weeks to remember all the names…but i do recognise their faces…so everytime i will just smile and say hello…and pretend i know their names ha ha
Alice,
Three years and three jobs? They say it’s good to spend at least a year at any given company so I guess you’re following that advice.
I’m starting to remember some names but there are still many more to go…
