I’ve created a new photo gallery, Wimbledon 2009 photos – day one.

I didn’t see any really big names on the men’s side of the game (James Blake was on Court 3 but I chose not to go and watch) but I did see Zheng Zie and Nadia Petrova in action. Nadia Petrova is huge! I also saw Ayumi Morita playing again, and unfortunately, losing again. The photo here is one of my favourite photos of the day.

I watched Tsonga on the practice courts before getting a great seat on Court 18 to watch Ai Sugiyama’s match. Next up was Novak Djokovic on Court 1, though I didn’t get to see much of his match.

After that I watched some ladies’ doubles involving the lovely Russian Maria Kirilenko, then briefly a couple of men’s doubles matches, the second featuring the Bryan Brothers.

Last but not least I saw Laura Robson in action in the ladies’ doubles back on Court 1. The match was very ‘un-doubles-like’ so I left before the end. It turned out to be a 13-11 final set thriller!

Day 07 was the second Monday and as I wrote in a previous post I was lucky enough to secure Centre Court tickets for an incredible line-up.
